MAKETICK FOUNDATION had been the dream of its founders and members which they together shaped into really. Maketick Foundation started with the aim of shaping a global marketplace for the underprivileged artisans living all over the world. The founders put in an effort to create a unifying platform, to build sustainable business enterprises in the craft sector in India and other third world countries, a non profit organization, which they named Maketick Foundation.
Maketick Foundation was started with the vision of unifying all the artisans on a common platform and helping them reach out to the international market and showcase their products. We realized that many artisans in the interior parts of India sell their products via a middleman who keeps the entire profit to himself and gives a minimum amount of income to the craftsmen…this was enough to drive our founders to create Maketick Foundation. Today most of the craftsmen in India live below the poverty line including the like living in other parts of the world. Through our extensive research we discovered that there are many countries in Africa, Latin America and Asis where artisans face same kind of deprivation. We have decided to set out livelihood programs for these underprivileged artisans and craftsmen living all around the globe, lending a helping hand to improve their financial condition. A large part of this community consists of the women artisans who would be provided with all kinds of financial and mental support to earn their living from Maketick Foundation. Maketick Foundation will lend a helping hand to boost up their income level by scaling up their business.
To start with Maketick Foundation has taken interest in the handloom and handicrafts sector of India. It has patched up with Bihar Development Trust to bring the 'tasar' silk weavers and artisans working in the remote areas of Bihar to the forefront. There are many regions in India where people live on the earning by the handicraft items they make at their homes. Maketick Foundation will provide these artisans a platform to showcase their products to the international market. We have plans to extend to Indonesia, Mozambique and other parts of Africa. We also have Asia and Latin America on our charts and we are determined to lend our support to the artisans living in these corners of the globe.
Maketick Foundation has been created by people who have seen the pangs of these underprivileged artisans very closely and have felt the need to stand beside them. Our success lies in you acknowledging our genuine effort to help mankind.
Maketick Foundation will extend its support to four sections which will comprise the following:
